What are the advantages of feeding my pet Oven-Baked TraditionTM?

The Oven-Baked TraditionTM product is ideal for all breeds of dogs and cats, of all sizes, in all stages of life. Our formulas contain none of the following ingredients: bovine products, animal by-products, artificial flavours or colouring agents, ethoxyquin ( EQ), BHA / BHT, corn, wheat, soy proteins or trans fats. Oven-Baked TraditionTM is very dense compared to other pet foods on the market. This will result in feeding less and offering you a better value . Omega 3 & 6 are present in all our Oven-Baked TraditionTM formulas. All the grains are ground in our production facility minutes before baking. This allows us to have total control over the product we make and to guarantee the freshness and the quality of the nutrients.

What is the difference between Oven-Baked and other cooking methods (extrusion)?

The oven baked process has several benefits. It takes ten times longer to slow bake our food compared to the fast method of extrusion manufacturing. Slow baking allows nutrients to be easily digested while protecting the integrity by enhancing the aroma and taste. It also allows us to put more fresh meat in our recipes resulting in a delicious and easy to consume diet. The extrusion cooking procedure is a process that uses high temperatures and high pressure. This affects the vitamins that are sensitive to high temperatures.

Where do your ingredients come from?

We source all of our ingredients from North America with the exception of lamb, which comes from New Zealand.

Why do you use fresh meat as the first ingredient?

We use fresh meats for overall easier digestibility. Fresh chicken offers better digestion compared to other forms of protein while offering superior flavor. The lamb is used mainly as an alternative source of protein for dogs with intolerance to other types of meat in our lamb and rice formula. The fresh fish from the Atlantic Ocean is rich in essential fatty acids, (Omega 3) and we also offer it as an alternative source of protein for dogs with intolerance to other types of meat in our fish formula.

Are your meats inspected ?

All our fresh meats come from human food establishments and are edible (contrary to non edible meats) prior to production.

Are all of your ingredients inspected ?

When arriving to our plant, samples are taken and compared with retention samples .The certificates of analysis (COA) which accompany them, are also approved by our department of quality control. Tests are done in our laboratories as well as external laboratories to ensure a safe product for your pet.

Are the chicken, the fish and the lamb really your first ingredients, even after the cooking?

YES! We use enough real meat in our recipes so the chicken, the fish or the lamb remain the first ingredient in each of our recipes, even after the cooking process.

Since you are using enough meat in your product for it to remain the first ingredient after cooking, why is the protein 22%?

We put our efforts into providing quality proteins. We prefer to supply your dog and cat with highly digestible sources of meat. Your pet benefits from the full potential of the quality ingredients which are in our products. Certain foods offer higher percentages of proteins, but they are not all available and digestible for your pet.

Why do you add fruits and vegetables into a dog’s diet ?

Fruits and vegetables are used for their vitamins and minerals. We also use them for their soluble and non-soluble fibers.

Where does your fish meal come from?

The fish meal is made from Herring fish. It is a natural source of calcium and phosphorus. It contains beneficial nourishing elements necessary for optimal dog and cat health. It is also a good source of fatty acids of omega 3 and 6.

Is your fish tested for heavy metals such as mercury?

All fish used in our recipes are analyzed by our suppliers (inspected and accredited) for their mercury content and respect the laws of the Canadian government for daily consumption.

What’s the extract of Yucca Schidigera and what is it for?
